Non cooperation movement
Non cooperation movement_The Non-cooperation movement was a political campaign launched on 4 September 1920, by Mahatma Gandhi to have Indians revoke their cooperation from the British government.
Non cooperation movement
When the non cooperation movement started, Gandhi said to the people that do not cooperate to the British government business. Decrease their income source, their expenditure will be increased automatically. Make your clothe and wear. Go to your own school. Go for study in your own college and university. Work for yourself not for the British government. Gandhi said due to which Indian should get the freedom to live life by their own. All the Indians were going to the all British education institutions, working for them and buying clothes to wear. The whole people obeyed to Gandhi and did the same what he said. Every one of revenue decreased and increased the expenditure of Britishers. British government felt miserably. Indians started their own educational institutions such as Gujarat vidyapeeth, Bihar vidyapeeth, Tilak Maharashtra vidyapeeth, Kashi Vidyapeeth, Bengal national vidyapeeth, and Jamia millia islamia.
Who all were lawyers and employees of British government, they all left from the British government due to which they had known that if we work under the British govt. and use their products then we will live life as an orphan and India will be the most complicated country to live peacefull in the world. Among them there were some great leaders like Motilal Nehru, Pandit jawaharlal Nehru, Chittaranjan Das, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, they all left from lowyer because they had to fight for our nation and get the freedom from the British government. These four people cooperated to Gandhiji in the non cooperation movement. They changed their suites, shoes and ties rather wear the Indian products by making their own which is known as Dhoti ponjabi. In the year of 1922 on February an incident occurred in Chaurichaura. While the non-cooperation movement was going on Britishers killed the people because of their movement. All the participants burnt the entire police station. 22 Britains were being cleaned by Indians. They had not to kill the police because they had to know, if we kill them, the Britishers will never leave us. They will definitely take all of us in the Jail. When this incident occurred 288 Indians were submitted in the court. 172 people were taken for the death penalty. 40 people went to jail. Gandhiji felt sad thinking about this incident due to his non cooperation movement.
Gandhi said, I had wanted the non cooperation movement! Why did you kill all of them ? Why did you do like this? This incident had not to happen. If we all do like this way then we all must die. Let's move slowly by taking an action against the British government. You did it, It means “ An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind ”
Gandhi thought No, No, No i have to bring it back my non cooperation movement, if i lead this movement ahead then everything will drain. If I get it back and walk in the way of non violence then it will definitely bring us the freedom.
🔰 Withdrawal of non cooperation movement :
When Gandhi stoped the non cooperation movement, all the people were intolerant because of Gandhi's activity. People thought when he wants to take a movement, he will start and when he will want to stop then he will stop. What is this irresponsible movement. Even Bhagat Singh and other leaders participated to help him in this movement but they all felt intolerant. No one had idea, they had only idea that we all kill to the Britains by taking movement, which Gandhi did not like . But Gandhi had a logical thinking that wanted means no one should die. We all indians should walk and act with a non violence because it will get us freedom from the British rule. According to his thought all the citizens and nation were important to him to move ahead so was not taking care of other works but for a great nation, where all indians will in peacefull and happiness that is freedom. This campaign was not for his profession but for a great nation.
Gandhi was saying, slap me on left and right cheek but I will lead the movement in the way of non-violence.
